Current progress


No new release this week, but I've been working on some things in the background (just haven't created any new levels to put them in).

I've done more work on the spiders, as well as adding weapons into the game. At the moment, you can equip a dagger which (if you're fast enough), you can use to cut the web that a spider is dangling from, causing it to fall to the ground, where you can stomp and kill it. I've also added animations to the spider, so it looks like it's spooling its web in and out, as well as working its mandibles in anticipation of a juicy meal. I've also got a scuttling animation in for when it's on the ground, but it's quite janky at the moment, and needs more work.

I've also reworked the tutorial levels into a single level that takes the player through all the basic controls and game concepts (like jumping on enemies to kill them). Very cathartic to delete all the old tutorial levels, given they were so clunky.

I've also added some more automation to the bugs, so they can just be dropped into a level and will automatically avoid walls and falling off ledges, without me needing to set up pathing.

Hopefully next week, I'll have v0.3.3 ready for release.
